Dear yoga folks,
I’m sending this letter much earlier than usual- mostly because I am making some big changes to the Zihuatanejo Mexico Yoga Intensive, and we expect it to fill up much sooner than in past years. One change is the limited number of participants. I am holding the retreat in a smaller space, so we think we’ll probably meet our limit sooner.
The new location is at the “Zihuatanejo Yoga Studio” located on La Ropa Beach - above Paty’s Marimar Restaurant. It is a brand new, beautiful space - designed solely as a yoga studio! It is done with exquisite taste, by Paty herself. Some of you already know Paty. She has been studying yoga with me for 5 or 6 years. For the last year and a half she has been taking an extensive yoga teacher training in Mexico City. She is quite inspired and that is reflected in her beautiful studio, which comes complete with bolsters, blocks, mats, and belts, as well as a stunning palm tree level panorama of the beach.
She has a full schedule of yoga classes every day, but has enthusiastically agreed to allow us to use the studio for our afternoon
classes so that we can have our Intensive there. Everything is 1st class, which is a step up from our old location at the Sotavento . We loved that old location, but it was time to move on to something new.
We are also changing the format of the Intensive. We will meet once a day. Instead of a morning session and an afternoon session, we will meet only in the afternoons. This will give everyone a full day of beach,
ocean, shopping, day trips, hammock lounging, or whatever. We will meet in the later afternoon : 3:30 - 6:30. Plenty of time to catch the sunset and get ready for a Zihua evening. With the new schedule we will still have lots of time for asana practice. We will still do some breathing and meditation. We just won’t have to get up at the break of dawn to do so. And with the smaller group I’ll have time to give more attention to each person.
And if you get even more inspired you can take a variety of low cost classes in the mornings from Paty’s wonderful staff of teachers.
I’m very excited about the new schedule. Early morning walks, swims and yoga down on the beach have always been my favorite part of being on La Ropa. The early morning energy on the beach is so mellow and in the past this wasn’t available to yoga participants. Now it is, and for me too, which makes me very happy. I’m very excited about this change. It’s so much more relaxed. and opens upso much more of the wonderful experience of being in Zihua. I’ve known for a couple of years that a change was in the air. We didn’t know what it was going to look like, but now that it has materialized- we love it.
I know it’s going to be great. The energy around it is wonderful. I have already had several people call me and commit at this early date. Showing me once again that when we are inspired about something that it happens almost on it’s own. In the past spaces have usually been available up to the last minute, but since there are fewer spaces and everybody seems to like the new format, we think that it may fill sooner than usual. Who knows really ? And as luck would have it, it looks like Mexico is an extra good travel value this year. If you’re interested go ahead and give me a call and I can tell you more, I am looking forward to hearing from you.
Let’s do some yoga together.
blessings, Gayna
P.S. I still like to bring my own very own yoga mat. Suit yourself.
